Alumni asked for more Queen’s Law news – and now they’ve got it! On April 17, Queen’s Law Reports Online (QLR-Online) made its official debut in email inboxes across Canada and abroad.
The first issue of the new e-publication for alumni, a digital extension of the annual print magazine Queen’s Law Reports, responds to results from a recent survey. Almost 70 per cent of respondents expressed an interest in periodic electronic issues. The most read sections of the print magazine are Alumni Notes (personal and professional news), In Memoriam, School News, Alumni Spotlights (on general interest topics) and Alumni Profiles. Throughout the survey, participants repeatedly showed their desire for additional coverage on all things relevant to alumni. In response to a question on what one thing they would change about the magazine, common themes were “more on alumni” and “increase frequency of publication.”
And now, four times a year, grads will receive the latest news about Macdonald Hall and classmates world-wide.
“There’s no shortage of good news coming out of Queen’s Law, especially when it comes to our alumni,” says Matt Shepherd, the Faculty’s marketing and communications director. “An online magazine is a natural fit to keep our alumni apprised of alumni news, as well faculty accomplishments, student achievements, and other school news. With the recent addition of social media to our communications tools, this is yet another way that our alumni can stay in better touch with the latest developments at their alma mater.”
QLR-Online isn’t just available to alumni. Anyone interested in learning more about Queen’s Law and its distinguished and enthusiastic grads can read the new digital publication. Check out the Queen’s Law Reports web page for QLR-Online, as well as the current and back issues of the print magazine.
Alumni, keep watching your email. The next issue of QLR-Online will be sent this summer.
