Family, friends, faculty, and staff cheered on the newest graduates of five programs as they crossed the stage at at the Leon’s Centre in downtown Kingston on June 23. Receiving degrees were 212 JD students, 2 LLM students, and 4 PhD in Law students. A total of 118 students received an undergraduate Certificate in Law and 87 students received a Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law.
Judge Kimberly Prost of the International Criminal Court, who has taught in Queen’s International Law Programs at Bader College for over 20 years, received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree and addressed the class.
Medals were given to JD graduates with the highest cumulative averages: Emma March, Hannah Iles, and Paget Houston. Olivia Moon and Liran Yefet received Dean’s Key awards for best embodying community values, collegiality, professionalism, service, and academic excellence. Dean’s Scholar Awards were presented to the JD graduates with the highest third-year averages: Emma March (Gold Scholar), Dayna Tunkham (Silver Scholar), and William Lundy (Bronze Scholar).
Following the ceremony, the newest alumni and their guests got together for an on-campus reception in Ban Righ Hall with Dean Mark Walters, faculty, and staff.
