SPACE BOOKING 

LAW STUDENT LEARNING COMMONS (Weekdays 8 a.m. - 11 p.m. / Weekends 8:30 a.m. - 11 p.m.)

  • Access to study space in the Student Learning Commons is a privilege not a right.
  • Bookings are for group work ie must be working on the same project not studying separately.
  • Groups may book a maximum of 3.5 consecutive hours, and are limited to one booking a day.
  • Groups cannot make bookings under different student accounts to book the room for the group for more than 3.5 hours a day.
  • Individuals who need group study space for online meetings or classes contact law.studentservices@queensu.ca
  • Sound carries. Please moderate your speaking volume to be considerate of others in the adjoining spaces.
  • The Learning Commons is a study area and all students using it must comply with the same protocols that are in classrooms. This means that eating and drinking are not permitted in the Learning Commons. Those who do not comply with these rules will be asked to leave the commons and booking privileges taken away.
  • Return the space to the state in which it was found, ensuring trash and recycling are placed in the appropriate receptacles.

LAW STUDENT LOUNGE (Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.)

PLEASE READ:  Obtaining a student lounge booking is a privilege not a right. All law-student-run events must also be sanctioned by the SGPS/LSS. The sanctioning form must be submitted at least 2 weeks before your event. For events involving alcohol or athletic activity, students must submit the sanctioning form at least 3 weeks in advance. https://students.queenslaw.ca/events

A temporary hold will be placed on a classroom until proof of SGPS sanctioning is forwarded to law.studentservices@queensu.ca

Student Lounge booking priority is given to, in order:

  • LSS sponsored events which are SPGS sanctioned
  • LSS club events which are SGPS sanctioned
  • Faculty/Staff/University sponsored events

Note: This space is not for study groups or meetings etc.

A booking is not confirmed until you receive an email confirmation.

Classroom booking priority is given to, in order:

  1. Law School academic programs
  2. Events sponsored by law faculty/staff
  3. General bookings by law faculty/staff
  4. LSS clubs activities and meetings which are SGPS sanctioned

Note: During the examination period, classrooms are reserved for examination administration.

Note:  Basement theatres are reserved by the University for scheduled courses, ad hoc classes, exams, and special events and are not managed by the law school.

Note: All bookings must abide by the University's space booking policy
